If you’re a designer in Osaka and interested in meeting up with similar creative and interesting people you’ll be interested in Design Matters. Hosted and organised by Garr Reynolds of Presentation Zen fame, they usually meet once a month (third Wednesday of the month) for a presentation at the Shinsaibashi Apple Store and then a casual get-together at a local restaurant or bar. The presentations are always great and always entertaining and are on a wide and varying range of subjects.

I’m a member myself, but I haven’t been attending recently (guess what one of my new year resolutions is?)

More information on the Design Matters site.

To get to the Apple Store, take either the Nagahori Tsurumi-ryokuchi line (lime-green) or the Midosuji line (red) and get off at the Shinsaibashi station(M19 or N15). Follow the signs to Sogo and the Apple Store is a 2 minute walk down the street. It will be on the opposite side of the street.

PS. Not related to the Lenovo Design Matters blog which is also a great read but has nothing to do with Osaka.
